Medway Queen - Rebuilding the HUll
“The Medway Queen – rebuilding the hull” is a companion volume to “The Medway Queen” published in 2013 and is to the same size and format (72 A4 pages) but with a higher photographic content, mostly in full colour. The book contains a short summary of the ship’s history followed by the story of her rebuild in Bristol with many photographs taken in the dockyard during the project including “behind the scenes” shots in the workshops. The story concludes with the re-dedication ceremony in July 2013, the tow to Medway and the ship’s arrival at Gillingham Pier. Besides many previously unseen pictures from the dockyard there are historical shots from the PSPS Collection and elsewhere that you may not have seen previously. This book has been co-authored by Bob Stokes (Project Manager) and Richard Halton.
