The official name of the Charity and Limited Company, to which all Members belong, is the New Medway Steam Packet Company Ltd. (NMSPC). The New Medway Steam Packet Company was the operating company of PS Medway Queen when in excursion service. The Medway Queen Preservation Society (MQPS) is the informal name, used as a trading name by the NMSPC, which reflects the aims and aspirations of it's Members.
The Project is supported by Medway Council, Mid Kent College, local businesses, and the GMB Union. We had great success in training nine apprentices, with the aid of European funding, who have now found employment out in the big wide world. Our workforce now is entirely voluntary, as are all society officers, administrators, managers and organisers. |

Although The Medway Queen Preservation Society is based in the Medway area of Kent, we draw support from around the world. We are a volunteer led society but have employed professionals for the rebuild of the ship. The society's aim is to restore the P.S. Medway Queen to her former glory but this is more than just a restoration project as it is also about supporting the local community, the youth of the area, education, and much more. The MQPS cannot achieve this on it's own and although we greatly appreciate the help and support we have had so far, we still need further backing, support, and assistance from both the public and private sectors.
