PS MEDWAY QUEEN - VIRTUAL TOUR
We now follow the guide further down into the ship, to the lower deck. The saloon here is still in a basic state, with temporary decking. It was previously much larger than this but a new bulkhead has been installed forward of the companionway to improve watertight integrity. That space has no deck laid and is not currently accessible.
Lower Aft Saloon
In excursion service this space provided a bar and seating although the view out would have been much poorer than from the upper saloon. During the war the lower aft saloon was used as a supplies storage area. In the last few years the society has used this space for temporary displays of various aspects of the ship's history. In this 80th anniversary year of Operation Dynamo what could that be but "Memories of Dunkirk". take a while now to browse a selection of the display panels in the gallery below.
