UPDATE December 2018 - Good news!
A long term supporter has donated £5000 towards the aft saloon work. We also received £3033 from the Co-op Community Fund and our own Reading Support Group have contributed a further £3000.  On top of this a revised specification has reduced the cost of publishing the children's book to £3400.

More Good News 22 January 2019
An appeal to members and the public raised a further £20000 so far
.

Further increases March 2019
The total from the membership appeal has passed the £26000 mark and £481 has come in via our Localgiving page.
Our "Medway Queen - West" support group have pledged a further donation in April.
Localgiving Donations

Our teams of volunteers are working hard to refit the aft saloon so that it can be used as a venue to generate much needed cash. This has been a lengthy project but good progress is now being made and we hope to be using the saloon by mid-2019. The aim is to refit this space to as near its original appearance as possible but without the restaurant tables so that it can be used for a variety of functions, events, etc.

Virtually all of our spare income has gone into this project but we now need to be acquiring fittings for both the saloon and the galley so that there is a catering facility on board. The galley will have to be fitted with modern equipment inside to meet hygiene regulations.

You can donate online using the Local Giving button, below, or by sending a cheque to MQPS, Gillingham Pier, Pier Approach Road Gillingham Kent. ME7 1RX.
Purchase prices ascribed to each item are approximate. Your donation will be used for the nominated item(s), unless oversubscribed, but will not be considered to be "restricted" funds. All money raised will be used to support the restoration of PS Medway Queen.

March 27th 2019 - A trial installation of aft saloon seat cushions (above) has been undertaken, electrical and safety work is progressing well and the aft companionway cover has been built in the workshops and will be installed soon. Work in other areas continues and fitting out of the galley should be underway shortly.
EDUCATIONAL & PUBLICITY PROJECT
Picture
"Seaside Steamer" book project. We need £3400 in sponsorship.
(Could be split between more than 1 contributor).
We have the opportunity to publish a children's book relating the "Medway Queen" story. This can only go ahead if we can raise the costs without raiding the restoration budgets.  We intend to print 1000 books and there is space for prominent acknowledgement and advertising on the back cover. Additional sponsorship amounts would allow a longer print run with increased advertising benefits.
