Funding News 2 - Magic Little Grant

As you are all aware we use the Localgiving website for online donations. We are delighted to announce that in addition to the generous public and members' donations received that way, we have also been awarded a “Magic Little Grant” of £500 which we have used on workshop equipment and materials.

Having the right tools and materials is essential from a safety point of view. It also increases the job satisfaction of our volunteers and, hence, their mental wellbeing. Anything we can do to make the job better, safer and quicker, has to be worthwhile and receiving a grant for this specific purpose is a great boost.

​Bosch Slide mitre saw. (the one we have does not cut accurately)
Set of 40mm knives and limiters for the Spindle moulder. (to be used for shaping parts of the paddle fascia)
PTFE tenon saw
PTFE 20" handsaw
1/2" radius router cutter. (to be used for shaping decorative pieces on the paddle wheel cover)
6 piece screwdriver set
Digital depth gauge (essential for accurate of setting blades on the planer/thicknesser
20 pairs of safety handler gloves.​​
