Based on Dapol GPVs these N gauge models commemorate Medway Queen’s part in the Dunkirk Evacuation of 1940. In May-June 1940 HMS Medway Queen made seven round trips to Dunkirk rescuing thousands of British, French and Belgian troops. The Light Brigade only charged the guns once – HMS Medway Queen’s crew did it seven times! And The Light Brigade didn’t have to contend with Stuka dive bombers!
Risk assessments have been carried out and an operating procedure drawn up - this will be reviewed as our first days of opening take place. We have registered with Visit Britain's "Good to Go" scheme and be assured we are doing everything we can to mitigate any risks.
We will take part in the annual Heritage Open Days in September with both online and real world contributions. Special arrangements are being put in place for the AGM in October. Members' attendance in person will not be possible this year due to social distancing requirements - full details in the Full Ahead newsletter.
