The "adventures" begin

Faye Beerling's new book, "Adventures of the Medway Queen", is now available to buy online or from the Medway Queen Visitor Centre. Come along one Saturday (11am to 4pm, last admission 3pm) and see one for yourself.

If you are coming to the MQPS AGM on 15th, or the PSPS AGM on 22nd, that is an ideal time to start your Christmas shopping with this fantastic new children's book about Medway Queen.

A Sneak Preview

Medway Lottery Update

Medway Lottery tell us -

"The leaves (and the temperature…) may be falling, but we’ve got an extra special prize to help you attract supporters to your lottery this autumn. In the national draw on 29th October your supporters will have the chance to win a £1,000 Bicycle Voucher. That’s on top of the weekly cash prizes of up to £25,000

So now is the perfect time to give Medway Queen Preservation Society a fundraising boost - get the word out about this fantastic prize and attract more players to your lottery. There's no need for your existing supporters to buy a separate ticket - they will automatically be entered into the special draw, but of course they could buy extra tickets: the more tickets they have, the more chances to WIN!"

We've noticed the temperature changes too and can't argue with additional chances to win! Existing supporters are already in the draw but there's plenty of room for more of you.

Busy times at MQVC

October is going to be a busy month at the Medway Queen Visitor Centre on Gillingham Pier.

Saturday October 8th - is the launch event or our new children's book by Faye Beerling. In this new book, Jasmine, with her friend Peter and Peter’s Mum, visit Medway Queen at Gillingham Pier and take the tour of the ship. The children’s imaginations vividly bring the story to life. Their guide explains the ship’s story as they go round, and they have a surprise encounter with someone from that story who is not what he seems at first!

The following two weekends see the ship in use for Annual General Meetings. Ours (MQPS) on Saturday 15th and PSPS on the Saturday 22nd. On those days we can expect the Visitor Centre to be busy and the formal meetings in the afternoon may cause some disruption to the tours. If you are attending one of these meetings we recommend that you come early for a tour of the ship and then attend your meeting on board afterwards. The meetings are for current members of the respective societies of course.
