Never mind "Black Friday"!

Some businesses' "BIG DAY" has come and gone. Ours will be the return of the ship to Gillingham Pier. That move is imminent but is subject to all the usual conditions beyond our control.

In the meantime we have to keep the cash flowing to make up for lost visitor revenue and to nibble away at the additional costs incurred by the fantastic work that has been done in Ramsgate. The website shop and donations, as well as Medway Queen West events and mail order, have resulted in a steady flow in the right direction which we need to maintain, or even strengthen. Medway Queen West have sent in a donation of almost £5000 from their trading this year, which is a good start! How this was achieved with most events cancelled is best not asked about!

The new PS Ryde book, N gauge railway wagons and Christmas cards have all helped and stocks remain to continue that work. The PS Ryde book and Christmas cards (some designs sold out) are available through the online shop as are the full range of other Medway Queen publications and souvenirs. Order online now.

Medway Queen West have just 5 of the latest N Gauge wagons remaining. More are held at the Medway Queen Visitor Centre so we'll tap into those when MQW sell out. For now continue to use the online form or email Richard at [email protected] . If one source runs out we'll automatically divert the order to the MQVC.

We're nearly there!

The guard rails at the bow are complete, the balustrade rails are in and using the latest technology the need for welding has been avoided.

"All" we want now is to get back to Gillingham! The tides are wrong at Gillingham in the coming week so it looks like the week after - wind permitting of course. Keep your fingers crossed.

In other news, sales of the PS Ryde book remain strong, the N Gauge wagons have been promoted in the N Gauge Journal, so orders are coming again, and Christmas cards are selling out! "Holly" and "Santa" are gone but some stocks of "Red Bow" remain. This card was new this year so we did have more available.

MQ November Update

Onwards and upwards! Rumour has it that the scaffolding will start to come down on Monday. The yellow lining is almost complete and work well advanced on the promenade deck rails.

The top hardwood rails have been there a while and now the lower rails are being added to complete the job. Hope for movement and return to Gillingham soon but that will depend on the weather and tides.

Sales News: Christmas cards are still available to purchase in our online shop and the PS Ryde book is selling well. Our initial batch of books from the publisher has almost gone but more have been ordered today so there should be no interruption in the supply. Medway Queen West report strong demand by "snail mail" orders of the book and in many cases Medway Queen titles are selling alongside the Ryde.
