On Saturday 16th June Amateur radio groups from around the world will be transmitting from a variety of museums to raise awareness of amateur radio hobby and the museums themselves. http://www.radio-amateur-events.org/IMW/ Medway Queen is part of the event this year and “Radio Medway Queen” will be transmitting world-wide from on board the ship promoting our heritage project far and wide. Other museum ships are expected to take part including HMS Belfast in London and many others from Europe and America. Radio enthusiasts, and everyone else, are invited on board Medway Queen at Gillingham Pier to witness the transmissions and, perhaps, to take part and send greetings messages. The event is open from 11am to 4pm. Admission to the Visitor Centre is free of charge, entry to the ship by donation and guided tours £5 per adult as usual. Limited free car parking is available.
